Coinciding with the Crossing Cultures exhibition of Indigenous art from Australia, this symposium features a leading Indigenous artist, curator, and lawyer who will discuss critical issues surrounding the reception and recognition of Indigenous art and the politics of Indigeneity in an increasingly globalized world. During the reception following the panel, Hetti Perkins's pathbreaking video art+soul will be playing continuously from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hood Museum of Art Auditorium.

Organized by the Hood Museum of Art and cosponsored by the Office of the Provost, the Museum Lecture Series Fund, the Leslie Center for the Humanities, the Dickey Center for International Understanding, and Native American Studies.
